Maroons Soccer Club Program Registration - Fall '11 / Spring '12 Season :

Registration for MSC Program after Team Assignment

• Congratulations! Your child has been selected to join a Maroons Soccer Club team for the upcoming 2011 / 2012 season. Please read all below and click the registration link above to bring you back to the Community Pass program. In the “Register for an activity: choose activity” dropdown box, please select MSC Fall '11 / Spring '12 Season Registration. The only “program” available for your child will be the team to which he/she is assigned. If you did not sign up for tryouts, your child CANNOT be assigned to a team.

• During the registration process you will also have the opportunity to volunteer family members (adults) to fill volunteer positions and to express an interest in coaching. PLEASE NOTE: All coaching assignments will be determined based on MSC Board of Trustee approval. If you have questions regarding coaching, please contact Mike Cobb at MichaelCobb@optonline.net

• Payment is by credit card only. The required forms are due by deadlines noted in the transaction email notice. If not submitted timely, the participant’s spot may be offered to another individual.

• After players register to assigned teams and rosters are set, an additional paid trainer/coach fee will be accessed per family and collected by the team’s coach or administrative manager in the fall, if applicable.

• You will be contacted later this summer by the administrative manager for your team. He / She will guide you through the forms process and centralize that activity.

Note: All mailing instructions will be detailed in the e-mail registration transaction receipt from the Community Pass program which will have links to required forms. Please print out the instructions for future reference.

Please refer to the following for detailed instructions regarding completing the necessary forms.

Coaches/Admin. Managers:

This year, Kevin Remley will be responsible for assisting in player and coach registration. Kevin’s contact information is at kevin@topazed.com or 201-447-0118.

As you may know, NCSA is affiliated with US Club Soccer. As a result, here is a summary of what you will need to collect from players NEW to the Maroons Soccer Club:

Player Registration and Medical Release (click to download either PDF or a Word version of the form). Please note that the parent signature does not need to be notarized. You should have each player and a parent/guardian complete and sign this form.

Proof of Birth(POB)/Birth certificates: You will need to supply an acceptable POB, such as a copy of a birth certificate, passport, or alien registration card. Hospital, baptism or religious certificates will NOT be accepted.

Photographs: You will need to supply a passport sized photograph (1”x1.5”).

Player Cards: Cards are completed and issued by NCSA, and players DO NOT sign the cards.

Once you have collected the above materials for ALL your players, please drop them off with Kevin Remley at 226 Mountain Avenue . Please let Kevin know, in advance, if you are dropping off documents.

Important Deadlines: US Club Soccer has advised us that in order to have a team’s cards available for the opening weekend of September, all materials need to be submitted to US Club Soccer by mid-August. Therefore, it is important that these materials be collected as soon as possible and provided to Kevin so that he can submit them in advance of mid-August. Because the process requires fewer documents and signatures, each team should complete their materials by JULY 31st, if not sooner. We have less control over the timing of card issuances and with approximately 35 teams to register, we’ll need as much time as necessary to complete registration.

If you plan on playing in a tournament in August, you’ll need to complete registration 14-21 days in advance of the tournament date.

Other Requirements: There are 2 other requirements that need to be completed by July 31st as well. First, each coach must submit a background check. This is done online through the US Club site. You will receive a password within the next 14 days in order to do this. Passes are issued for 2 years.

Lastly, your player information will be listed online, and once you receive your password, you will need to verify the accuracy of your player information. However, you should not wait until you receive your password to begin collecting application forms, birth certificates and photographs.

Please contact Kevin or me with any questions.

Other Coach Requirements Include:

Submit Coach License: Maroons Soccer Club requires each coach and assistant coach to complete a basic soccer coach course. NCSA typically will provide such a course prior to the beginning of the Fall and Spring seasons. New coaches and assistant coaches must submit proof of completion of a coaching course to Maroons Soccer Club, P.O. Box 42, Ridgewood, NJ 07451. Any questions regarding coach licensing should be directed to Doug Wamsley at wamsleyd@msn.com .

Submit Rutgers SAFETY Certification: The MSC and NCSA require a coach to obtain a Rutgers SAFETY Course (also known as Little League limitation of liability course) certification card. The course is 3 hours and is generally offered the first Thursday of each month at The Valley Hospital - 1-800-VALLEY1. Other hospitals also offer the SAFETY course at varying times. If a former MSC coach, this certification is already on file, and does not have to be submitted again. New coaches and assistant coaches to the Maroons Soccer Club must remit copy of card to the Maroons Soccer Club, P.O. Box 42, Ridgewood, NJ 07451.

Important: A coach will not be issued a US Club Soccer card without MSC Board of Trustee approval and submission of needed credentials.
